Summary of the project: I became a Recifense for a month in order to help women from the city’s disadvantaged communities sell products they make out of rubbish & realise their dreams of a better future.
Alice spent a month in Recife, Brazil, helping women from the city’s disadvantaged communities sell products they make out of rubbish and realise their dreams of a better future. With a team of students, Alice created a brand from scratch for Seleta and helped the women see the their true potential. When Alice joined Saatchi & Saatchi in November 2012, she thought it was for a 2 week work experience placement. Nearly three years later she has worked across several accounts, Global and UK based, from Kerry Foods and Weight Watchers to her current role as Account Manager on Head & Shoulders and more recently Marie Curie. Alongside her day to day role, she led Movember at Saatchi aka Moustaatchi, as well as hosting cake sales and tea parties galore, always in aid of a good cause.
Outside of the office she loves all the usual, running, travelling, cooking and arts and crafts and has just collaborated with a friend to create the date box – everything you need for the perfect Valentine’s night in; ingredients & recipe for a delicious meal, flowers for the lady, wine, pudding & some extra treats thrown in, all beautifully packaged and delivered to your door.
Before joining S&S, Alice studied Spanish at Bristol University and was lucky to spend an unforgettable Erasmus year teaching English at the University of Ibague, Colombia.
Alice came Recife, Brasil to pursue her love of Latino culture and work with Instituto Solidare. You may read more about the project HERE.
