As TIE’s Programme Manager, Matheus' role is to liaise with NGOs and social initiatives from around the world to identify opportunities that leave a positive mark on the planet. Prior to joining TIE, he worked in the Corporate Content team at the American Chamber of Commerce for Brazil, whose aim is to improve the business environment in the country. His interest in international development has led him to live in countries such as Senegal, where he worked with the Japanese NGO Ashinaga empowering young orphans through education, and Belgium, where he was able to focus on Human Rights Studies as part of his Political Science bachelor's degree, whilst participating in the Erasmus Programme at the University of Liège. An avid reader, he is also quite passionate about languages and how they shape our day-to-day lives. Matheus sees TIE as a bridge between the corporate and the non-profit sectors and, believing they have much to learn from one another, he would like to help bring forth what's best in both so they can thrive together.
